If there are records of you taking anti-depressants then they might not take you until it has been two years. I know that for a fact. If there are no records then you could join and just never tell anyone.

The military services have the highest suicide rate of all time right now. Do you really down deep think they are going to take someone who ALREADY had a problem with depression? Even if you get off the meds for a year, you still have three years history of depression with some major medications.

I think you need to focus on your education and look for a good civilian job.

It does limit your chances of getting in and you might slip through the cracks but why would you do that to yourself? The stress level is unbelievable in the military and if you can’t handle civilian life without being depressed, than your 10x as likely to not handle the Army. I’m not saying your weak but you need to be honest with yourself first with whatever you do in life. Don’t bring it upon yourself or even yet, your comrades who will be entrusting you with their lives in combat.
