    try corel photopaint it’s really cheap compared to adobe photoshop. and it’s easy for a beginner if you have a book that will guide you, there’s not much online tutorials around about it.

    I find Microsoft Publisher to be the one I always end up using, but if you want an alternative that’s free and open source,
    Scribus is excellent.

    MS Publisher would be your best option and is more user friendly than other programs. If your laptop is new it should come with a MS office trial version. However, MS Publisher is only included in the Professional version. Therefore, I guess you don’t have any other option but to buy it. Now you can either buy the program by itself which will cost you between $50 – $80 or you can get the whole office professional package for about $350 bucks depending where you buy. So the choice is yours. Your best bet is to find a friend who has the program and borrow it. Just make sure the CD has not been installed and activated more than 3 times or it will not work.
