One response to “I misplaced a business expense receipt from Office Depot, how can I get a record of that purchase for my biz?”

When I worked at a major department store and a customer would have a return with no receipt, on of our options was too pull up the receipt record via credit card. Stores keep electronic records, and sometimes you can pull the information from your online credit card statement from the month in which you used that. If you use an Amex Card they keep an electronic copy of the receipt. If you have no receipt, make a photo copy of your statement, then high light the Office Depot Transaction and take a photo of the printer. If you kept the box then take a picture of the serial number or cut it out and copy it. Also do you have a frequent purchasers program, then they would have a record of the entire transaction. You can always make a record of the purchase in a word dcoument. Accidents happpen.. Don’t worry about it.
