I live in the UK and am going to Kas in Turkey and staying in a house which has no internet access.
I urgently need internet access for business reasons. I am taking my laptop which can get wireless internet & internet via sim card.
What is my cheapest option?
I have tried my provider Vodafone which I get via sim card, but the rates in Turkey as huge, the other option is connecting via my mobile phone connection, but again, the rates are massive.
Is there a sim card you can purchase that will give you good rates in mobile internet access and if so, where can I buy one from?
Thanks very much
3g technologies just came to turkey for few month ago so i have no idea either but i think u can buy a prepaid card and work with it
i will give u the phone number of most common gsm companies customer care in turkiye
turkcell customer care
+90 212 444 0 535 ( for prepaid cards)
vodafone customer care
+90 212 444 0 542 ( for prepaid cards)
There are 2 restaurants where I live which provide free access to customers. It is not advertised and you have to ask if they have it. Also you may find a hot spot that has open access. You can buy a sim card in this country from any Vodafone or Turkcell shop and they are everywhere so if you are desperate wait until you get here and buy a sim here.
Well I had a look at Vodafone’s UK website and TR website to compare 3G prices.. And guess what, they are almost the same.
here is Uk rates;
http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/deals/usb-modem-stick-3gb-12-month-15/?WT_ref=INT-160709-Shop-Dls-12mMBB
UK vodafone 3G: 15£ for 3Gb of data per month
and here is Tr rates;
http://www.vodafone.com.tr/Internet/mobil-internet-paketleri.php
TR vodafone 3G: 45 liras (19 £) for 5Gb of data per month
if you can afford to use 3G in UK, you can afford it here…
But if you want “free” connection, well,, .. you’ll have to hack into your neighbours wireless network..
