I’m a hair stylist and I’m getting some new cards made. I want to convey the message that I like to do bright colors. How would I phrase that? I like to natural colors as well, so I will also be putting “dimensional color” as a specialty. People like the word “dimensional”
What would like to see on a card that would convince you to choose a certain person to do your crazy color?
What should I put on my business card?

“People” like the word dimensional, or *you* like the word dimensional?
A colourful card made up in a creative way would be the best way to promote colouring for hair. Make sure to make it simple and clean, but at the same time make it exciting and vivid. People will go for a strong, attractive design, because they link it to what you’ll be doing to their hair.
After all, people go to hairdressers for a specific purpose. Say a guy is coming in, he’ll want to impress clubgoers, or get a cut his girlfriend will find attractive, or do something unique for a party he’s going to. If the first impression they get of you is an untidy or dull looking business card, they won’t trust you to do their hair they want it either.
If I was doing a vivid haircolour, I’d want to see a stylist who herself had a vivid style, or had examples of things she did going around. Personally, I wouldn’t care much about a business card, impressions are important first and foremost in a hair salon, and if I’m there i’m looking at my Stylist, not a business card. If my stylist is an attractive younger woman, she’s going to cut my hair in a way that makes me look attractive to younger women. If my stylist is an old italian man, he’s going to cut my hair in a way that makes me look like I’ll fit in with old italian men. If my stylist has earrings and a punk hairstyle with bright orange/mauve in it, (s) he is creative and knows what they’re doing when it comes to those things.
If you really want to make the business card poof though, those are things I’d do. Make it pretty, but not complicated. People are picky about their hair and if they worry you are TOO over the top, they won’t come, or they’ll be nervous about trying you out.
